About Us

Cancerserve was constituted as a broad entity that brings together diverse professionals, cancer survivors, family members, healthcare stakeholders and well-wishers to help support efforts to stem the tide of cancer in Zimbabwe and beyond. Cancerserve is a registered Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) that was launched in 2018.

Why We Exist

Cancerserve Trust exists to not only improve cancer care in Zimbabwe, but also improve accessibility to treatment solutions. Numerous Zimbabweans find themselves in a predicament when diagnosed with cancer. With high costs of care to barriers through distance and even community beliefs, individuals have found they cannot always depend on the health system for support as they begin their journey as a cancer survivor.

The cancer burden is not only individual as the family unit tends to be affected financially, mentally and even socially given the stigma around cancer diagnosis. With education comes empowerment and when it comes to cancer, education serves as a catalyst for increased early detection. Cancer doesn’t have to be a death sentence and Cancerserve has been working to ensure there is increased support for cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Through partnerships and collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Health and Childcare in Zimbabwe and both local and international organisations, Cancerserve has been instrumental in the fight against cancer in Zimbabwe.
